Late last week, an excited sell-out crowd at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ witnessed the launch of PIXIES long-anticipated Doolittle 'Lost Cites' tour, and helped to initiate it in style. At the same time, as the band began their journey across the US, taking the 20 year celebration of 'Doolittle' to 19 cities they've never visited before, our minds were cast back two years, to when these 'Doolittle' anniversary shows first began, and our hands started digging through the vault.
What we found was really special. Not one or two, but EIGHT wonderful shows, in all their glory, taken from 2009's initial European leg of the 'Doolittle' tour. Four dates in Brixton Academy, London, two in The Zenith, Paris, and one each in Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall and Brussels' Forest National.
